The shading of the photovoltaic power station will not only reduce the power generation efficiency of the components, but may also cause the generation of hot spots, posing hidden dangers to the safety of the power station. Compared with ordinary photovoltaic modules, the impact of shading on shingled modules is much smaller. When the module is installed vertically, the bottom string is blocked. The power of conventional half-chip modules is attenuated by 50%, and the power of conventional whole-chip modules is attenuated by 100%. However, for shingled modules, only a single row of cells has a power attenuation of 33%; when the module blocks the bottom string during installation, the power of conventional full-chip and half-chip modules is attenuated by 33%, while for shingled modules, only a single row of cells has a power attenuation of 17%.
